Submarine Museum, Vishakapatnam

I have always found them quite intriguing, mysterious and honestly very sexy.

Growing up, the image has correctly always been around them being used for hidden strategies at war... An impression strangely developed from all the Hollywood Movies watched.

When googling up Visakhapatnam, the submarine museum caught my fancy. I found out that they actually have a 1977 war submarine converted into a museum!  For whatever reason..  I knew I wanted to do this for sure.

When I reached the site..  Wow happened.  They actually had a bug submarine parked on the beach..  Easily accessible at a simple ticket fee.

I actually got to walk through this 177 meter long metal fish... Experiencing how the naval boys lived in there for weeks together. The missle shooting sockets (6 at the front end and another 4 in the back end), the powerful engine/motor, the naval boy's beds and dining area, the captain's cabin, etc..Pipes, wires, levers, narrow passages,  ladders, doors on the top, some small round windows, etc.  They had wax statues of sailors in each department doing their stuff..  And like a wide eyed little girl I imagined living the experience.

I'm glad I did this museum tour.

Why couldn't I let Vishakapatnam be itself.

Very excited about doing a new city.
Eager to see what's it like.

Did I have any preconceptions/notions about this city?  What did I already know about this place?
Well Yes I did!
Hmm..  Let's attempt listing them and alongside note reactions

- Andra Pradesh means South India - Yes.  Has dark men,  curly hair women,  wear lungi,  have ornate colourful temples.

- Language problem- Surprisingly not! Unlike Chennai and other TN cities.. Most Vizag people can understand and speak a little bit of Hindi.

- Hot and sticky- Not at all,  lovely weather..  Good mix of the coastal breeze and the crisp hilly air.

- Industrial belt hence polluted and dirty- Not at all.  Very well structured and planned city..  Wide roads,  graffiti on the street walls,  not over developed..  A good balance between the makaans and the towers.

Important story here is.. I kept comparing the city to other cities..
Is it dirty or humid sticky like Chennai.
Will it be crowded like Hyderabad.
The feel of the city and its up down slopes are like Bangalore.
Weather is like Goa.
People are from all over the country... Like Pune.

Wonder why I wasn't able to let Vishakapatnam be itself.
